Bayram Deder moved from his hometown Mardin to Izmir Kadifekale years ago. He is a primary school graduate. He could not keep a job for a long time, he did not have a profession or knowledge. He stayed in prison for seven years. After he was out, he could not find a job and opened a scratchy tea house in historical Kadifekale.
He got married to Emine, whom he saw and fell in love with in the neighborhood. Their son Eyüp and Emir were born. As Bayram passes through Kadifekale every morning to open his tea house, he watches the neighborhood disappear with urban transformation projects.
